Eri-internationalsports first reported that Eritrean-American soccer standout from the University of Akron was signed to a Polish premier league team. A few days later we also reported that Ezana known by his nickname to fans in Poland as “Ezzie” was transferred to another top notch club known as Motor Lublin FC. The club is a popular club that has one of the top facilities in Poland. It seems to be the perfect place for this young man who has worked so hard to make it home. Motor Lublin FC is a club based in Lublin. The club was founded in December 1950 with their nickname The Yellow, White and Blues reflecting their official colors. They compete in II liga in the 2021–22 season and have competed on several occasions in the top tier league as well.

With most fans just getting to know Ezana today the coach took a risk and decided to start Ezana in the lineup against a tough opponent in Śląsk II Wrocław. With his team giving up a goal early, Ezana was able to convert a beautiful header to tie the game. His non-stop attacks also allowed many chances throughout the game. The visitors took the lead again, but Ezana and Motor Lublin FC were able to come back and tie the game at 2-2 at half time giving the fans on a rainy day some hope for a great start in what is known as the Fortuna Polish Open Cup with thirty teams competing for a huge price.

The team won their first preliminary match of the popular Fortuna Cup of Poland against Śląsk II Wrocław with a final score of 4-2. Ezana’s contribution is a great start to what will hopefully be a great season. His tough journey from the USA to Europe to make a career is starting to pay off. Eri-internationalsports has been following the success of Ezana throughout his journey to the top and there is no doubt that this young man will continue to march to the top tier of European leagues while also contributing towards the development and building of a strong Eritrean national team.
